And dailymealspot is my little corner of the internet!
I’m the voice, author, and creator behind dailymealspot. I first started cooking seriously in 2015 while I was still working as a graphic designer in Portland. My first “official” recipe was a simple spaghetti carbonara I whipped up for a friends‑only dinner party. I posted that recipe on a tiny WordPress blog, and within a few weeks I was getting emails from strangers asking for more.
In 2017 I turned that hobby into a proper site, rebranding it as dailymealspot. Fast‑forward to 2023, the site now hosts 152 tested recipes, a weekly newsletter with 12,300 subscribers, and an average of 48,000 unique visitors each month. I’ve added a video series, a printable meal‑plan PDF, and a small shop where I sell my homemade spice blends. Seeing readers leave comments like “I finally mastered the perfect roast chicken” makes every late‑night edit worth it.
I live in Asheville, North Carolina, with my husband Marco and our two kids, Lily (7) and Noah (4). When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll find me hiking the Blue Ridge Mountains, digging through crates of jazz vinyl at the local record shop, or kneading sourdough on a rainy Sunday. My favorite kitchen tools are a cast‑iron skillet, a good chef’s knife, and a sturdy wooden spoon that’s seen more sauces than I can count.
A fun fact: the first photo I ever posted on dailymealspot was taken on my phone from the back of a pickup truck while I was cooking chili for a neighborhood potluck. That picture still lives in the “memories” folder, and it reminds me that the best meals are the ones shared with people who matter.
